Marching Powder 2025
Marching Powder (2025), directed and written by Nick Love, is a dark comedy-drama following the turbulent life of Jack Jones, a middle-aged football hooligan played by Danny Dyer, who is arrested for fighting and cocaine possession. Jack is given a six-week court order to clean up his act—save his marriage to his long-suffering wife Dani (Stephanie Leonidas), quit his drug habit (cocaine, or "marching powder"), and stop his involvement in football hooliganism—or face a prison sentence. Financially dependent on his wealthy father-in-law, Ron (Geoff Bell), Jack must also look after Dani's recently institutionalized, schizophrenic brother, Kenny Boy (Calum MacNab), whose erratic behavior presents a constant challenge. The plot sees Jack struggle to balance his redemption attempts with the relentless temptation and pressure from his old-school, toxic friends and his own deep-seated dependency on his degenerate lifestyle, all while Dani attempts to recover the part of herself she sacrificed for their marriage by going back to art school. The film, which also stars Danny Dyer’s real-life son Arty Dyer as JJ, Jack and Dani's young son, is a visceral look at aging 'lads' who have refused to grow up, featuring extreme language, drug use, and violence. Released theatrically in the United Kingdom and Ireland on March 7, 2025, the film achieved a worldwide box office gross of approximately $4.05 million (largely from the UK, where it opened to around $1.4 million). For home viewing, Marching Powder is available to own on digital, DVD, and Blu-ray, and has been made available to watch or buy on digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Google Play Movies in various territories, though streaming availability is subject to change based on region.
