The Age of Disclosure 2025

Directed by Dan Farah (producer of Ready Player One), The Age of Disclosure is a controversial documentary that investigates an alleged 80-year global conspiracy to conceal the existence of non-human intelligent life. The film asserts that major world powers are locked in a secret cold war to reverse-engineer recovered alien technology. It differentiates itself from standard conspiracy films by featuring on-camera testimonies from 34 high-ranking insiders, including military officers, intelligence officials, and sitting politicians. Key figures appearing in the film include former Pentagon official Luis Elizondo, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and physicist Dr. Hal Puthoff, all of whom discuss the national security implications of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). The film has generated a polarized response, creating a sharp divide between general audiences and professional critics. It holds a high audience approval rating (hovering around 87% on aggregators) from viewers who find the volume of high-level testimony "shocking" and "convincing." However, professional reviews have been mixed-to-negative (Metacritic score approx. 45). Critics have described it as a "sensationalistic" but "bland" presentation that resembles a "college PowerPoint," noting that while the list of interviewees is impressive, the film offers no hard physical evidence to substantiate its explosive claims. It is often characterized as a polished, higher-budget version of a History Channel special. The Age of Disclosure was released globally on Amazon Prime Video on November 21, 2025, following its premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March. To qualify for Academy Awards consideration, it had a limited theatrical run in select cities (New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C.), but it is primarily a streaming release with negligible box office data. As of late November 2025, it is available to rent or purchase at a premium price (roughly $19.99–$24.99) on Prime Video. It is expected to become available on standard subscription tiers later in 2026.
