Ballerina 2025
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is the latest action-thriller in the John Wick franchise, released in Indian theaters on June 13, 2025. Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, the film serves as a spin-off set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4.🎭 Plot Overview The story follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), a former ballerina who becomes a skilled assassin within the Ruska Roma syndicate. After witnessing the brutal murder of her family, she embarks on a relentless quest for vengeance, utilizing her unique blend of dance and combat skills. The film delves into her transformation from a dancer to a lethal operative, navigating the complex world of assassins and the codes that govern them.🔥 Action and Critics Ballerina is noted for its high-octane action sequences, including a standout tavern fight scene that blends slapstick chaos with brutal efficiency. Critics have praised Ana de Armas's performance, highlighting her ability to portray both vulnerability and toughness. However, some reviews suggest that while the film delivers on action, it lacks the character depth and narrative complexity that fans of the franchise have come to expect.📺 Streaming Release It is expected to become available on streaming platforms later in the year, potentially by late August. Speculation suggests that Prime Video might secure the streaming rights, as it has acquired a package of 2025 films.💰 Box Office Performance As of June 13, 2025, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina has grossed approximately $60.9 million worldwide, with $34.8 million from North America and $26.1 million from international markets. Despite being a spin-off from the popular John Wick franchise, the film's performance has been underwhelming compared to its predecessors. It opened with $24.5 million domestically, falling short of initial projections and trailing behind Disney's Lilo & Stitch, which earned $32.5 million in its third weekend. The film's production budget is reported to be around $90 million, and while some of that cost has been offset by international pre-sales, the current box office earnings suggest that the film may face challenges in achieving profitability. Analysts suggest that Ballerina could still perform well in the long run, especially with positive audience feedback and the potential for strong word-of-mouth. However, it remains to be seen whether the film can recover its production costs and achieve commercial success.🌟 Conclusion From the World of John Wick: Ballerina expands the franchise by spotlighting a new, compelling lead—Eve Macarro, played by Ana de Armas—in a vengeance-fueled tale rooted in the brutal underworld we've come to expect. With visually striking action and a deeper look into the Ruska Roma assassin lineage, the film delivers high-octane thrills, even if it doesn't match the narrative depth of earlier entries. For fans of the John Wick universe, it's a stylish and energetic spin-off that paves the way for more character-driven stories within this deadly and elegant world.

Ballerina is shockingly really good. I did expect it to be decent, but it definitely went past my expectations. Originally, the thing I was most excited about before seeing this was to see John Wick again, but it turns out that even if he weren't in the film, the movie still would've ended up being as good as it is. The scenes with John Wick were amazing, but every scene that didn't include him was equally as good. I liked Eve's character more than I expected to, and even though he wasn't in the movie that much, I did enjoy the scenes with Norman Reedus as Daniel Pine. The amount of action sequences in this movie is insane, mostly every second of this movie, we get more and more action without being able to take a breather. This might just be the most action-packed movie of the franchise yet, right next to John Wick: Chapter 4. Overall, Ballerina is exactly everything you could ever want from a John Wick spinoff. I still prefer the original four John Wick movies, but this is definitely a worthy entry to the franchise!
