Forgive Us All 2025
Forgive Us All is a 2025 New Zealand neo-Western apocalyptic horror film directed and written by Jordana Stott, which she independently financed with her husband and co-producer, Lance Giles. The film stars Lily Sullivan as Rory, a bereaved mother who has lost everything in a post-apocalyptic world where a biotech virus has turned humans into violent cannibals. She takes refuge in an isolated mountain cabin, teetering on the edge of despair. The story's central conflict arises when a desperate and wounded stranger arrives, offering a glimmer of hope and a chance for redemption. Rory must then decide whether to remain hidden in her safe but lonely sanctuary or risk her life by helping him escape through a forest infested with the "Howlers," as the infected are known. The film explores themes of motherhood, grief, redemption, and survival, with a focus on human drama rather than non-stop zombie action. While the cannibals serve as a constant threat, the primary danger often comes from other human survivors, including a totalitarian organization and a ruthless group of trackers. The film was shot in Queenstown, New Zealand, taking advantage of the rugged, beautiful, and vast landscape to create a sense of isolation and a menacing atmosphere. Forgive Us All was released in Australia and New Zealand in May 2025, with a digital release in other territories later in the year.
