Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025)
Five Nights at Freddy's 2, is a supernatural horror sequel based on the popular video game series by Scott Cawthon, scheduled for release in the United States on December 5, 2025, from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions. Emma Tammi returns to direct, and the script is penned by Scott Cawthon (co-written with Seth Cuddeback and Emma Tammi). The story is set one year after the events of the first film, following Mike's younger sister, Abby Schmidt (Piper Rubio), who has been kept in the dark about the true fate of her animatronic friends. The official plot synopsis indicates that the stories of what transpired at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza have become a twisted local legend, inspiring the town's first-ever "Fazfest." However, when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with the animatronics—Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy—it sets in motion a terrifying chain of events. This leads to the revelation of dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and unleashes a long-forgotten horror buried for decades. Returning principal cast members include Josh Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa Shelly, Piper Rubio as Abby Schmidt, and Matthew Lillard as the serial killer William Afton. New additions to the cast include Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Teo Briones. The animatronics, again crafted by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, are also confirmed to be returning, with a promise from the director of better animatronics and more Easter eggs for the fans, including the potential introduction of the 'Toy' and 'Withered' animatronics from the second game. The film is expected to be more "action-packed" and "fan-centric" than its predecessor.
