I Don't Understand You 2025

I Don't Understand You is a 2025 comedy horror film directed and written by David Joseph Craig and Brian Crano. The movie stars Nick Kroll, Andrew Rannells, Morgan Spector, Eleonora Romandini, and Amanda Seyfried, and follows Dom and Cole, a wealthy gay couple from Los Angeles who travel to Italy to celebrate their 10th anniversary while awaiting news about adopting a baby from a surrogate named Candace. Their supposed romantic 'babymoon' quickly turns into a chaotic nightmare as language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, and a series of horrific accidents—including murder—jeopardize their relationship and the adoption process. The couple, stranded in rural Italy with no cell service or understanding of the local language, accidentally cause a dinner party massacre and must navigate escalating mayhem while confronting deep fears about parenthood and each other. The film blends dark comedy and slapstick horror as Dom and Cole endure the disastrous vacation and ultimately return to Los Angeles to welcome their child, having literally survived hellish challenges abroad. Inspired by the real-life struggles of the filmmakers, the story uses exaggerated violence and chaos as metaphors for the emotional turbulence of adoption and personal transformation. Most critics found the film uneven, with praise reserved for the lead performances by Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells. Several reviews noted that the comedic and horror elements did not blend smoothly, resulting in tonal inconsistency. Some called the screenplay "choppy" with jokes that often miss, though a few reviewers highlighted the film's willingness to break conventional genre molds and the chemistry of the leads. The film earned $166,801 during its opening weekend in the US and Canada and closed with a domestic total of $265,837. Worldwide box office gross was $276,299, with virtually no international earnings. The release was limited, opening in 253 theaters and ranking very low in yearly and all-time box office lists.

The murderous doll who captivated pop culture is back. And this time she’s not alone. The original creative team behind that phenomenon--led by horror titans James Wan for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and director Gerard Johnstone--reboot an all-new wild chapter in A.I. mayhem with M3GAN 2.0. Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match. Directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, the film co-stars returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live, Hacks), Timm Sharp (Apples Never Fall, Percy Jackson and the Olympians) and Grammy winner and 11-time Emmy nominee Jemaine Clement (Avatar: The Way of Water, What We Do in the Shadows). Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and Allison Williams, the film is executive produced by Gerard Johnstone, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott and Mark D. Katchur.
