Now You See Me: Now You Don't 2025
Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Uncharted), this third installment in the magician-heist franchise sees the original "Four Horsemen" reunite for their most ambitious and global illusion yet. The story picks up 10 years after the previous film, where the veteran magicians are brought back together by Thaddeus Bradley to mentor a new generation of young illusionists—Charlie, Bosco, and June—who have been staging fake Horsemen shows. The expanded team targets Veronika Vanderberg, a ruthless diamond heiress and money launderer, planning to steal the legendary "Heart Diamond" in a complex heist spanning Belgium, France, and Abu Dhabi. Jesse Eisenberg (Danny), Woody Harrelson (Merritt), Dave Franco (Jack), and Isla Fisher (Henley) all reprise their original roles, with Lizzy Caplan (Lula) joining the group in the second half. The new recruits are played by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt. Rosamund Pike stars as the villainous Veronika, while Morgan Freeman returns as Thaddeus. Notably, Mark Ruffalo (Dylan Rhodes) appears only in a brief cameo (via hologram) at the film's conclusion due to scheduling conflicts, setting up a potential fourth film. The film has received a mixed critical reception, holding a Rotten Tomatoes score of approximately 59%. Reviewers have described it as "light-as-a-feather" entertainment that relies heavily on CGI spectacles rather than practical magic, with some calling the plot "generic" and "overstuffed." However, the chemistry between the original cast and the "fresh energy" of the new recruits—particularly Justice Smith—has been praised. Despite the tepid critical reviews, audience scores have been significantly higher (around 82%), with long-time fans appreciating the fun, fast-paced tone and the return of the original ensemble. Now You See Me: Now You Don't was released in US theaters on November 14, 2025. It opened at #1 at the domestic box office with approximately $21.3 million and secured a global opening of roughly $75.5 million. While performing decently, it is tracking slightly below the massive numbers of the first film. As it is currently in its exclusive theatrical window, it is not yet available to stream. It is expected to arrive on digital rental platforms (PVOD) in late December 2025, with a subscription streaming release likely on Peacock or Starz in early 2026.
