The Invisible Man 2020

The 2020 film, The Invisible Man, is a science fiction horror-thriller written and directed by Leigh Whannell and loosely based on the H.G. Wells novel. The movie stars Elisabeth Moss as Cecilia Kass, a woman who escapes a violent and controlling relationship with her wealthy, brilliant scientist ex-boyfriend, Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). She suspects Adrian has faked his death and is using his expertise in optics to become invisible and stalk her, but no one, including her sister (Harriet Dyer) and childhood friend, a police detective (Aldis Hodge), believes her, leading to her sanity unraveling as she struggles to prove the existence of an assailant that nobody can see. The film, which runs for approximately 124 minutes, is a modern and often terrifying allegory for domestic abuse and gaslighting, using the sci-fi conceit to amplify the horror and isolation experienced by victims.
