The Twits 2025

The film adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic book, The Twits (2025), is an animated musical comedy that premiered on Netflix on October 17, 2025. Directed and co-written by Oscar nominee Phil Johnston (Ralph Breaks the Internet, Zootopia), with co-directors Katie Shanahan and Todd Demong, the movie expands on the original, often macabre, story. The plot follows the revolting Mr. and Mrs. Twit, described as the meanest, smelliest, and nastiest people in the world, who own and operate the disgustingly dangerous amusement park, Twitlandia. When the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave children, Beesha and Bubsy, and a family of magical Muggle-Wumps are forced to use the Twits' own trickery against them to save the city. The voice cast includes Johnny Vegas as Mr. Twit and Margo Martindale as Mrs. Twit, alongside a star-studded ensemble: Natalie Portman as Mary Muggle-Wump, Emilia Clarke as Pippa, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Beesha. The film features original songs by Talking Heads' frontman David Byrne, who also composed the score with Oli Julian. The animation was produced by Jellyfish Pictures.
