M3GAN 2.0 (2025)

Set two years after the first film, the story centers on stolen M3GAN technology being weaponized into a lethal android named Amelia. Gemma and Cady resurrect and upgrade M3GAN to confront this new threat in a high-stakes showdown. The sequel moves from horror into sci‑fi action comedy, echoing elements of Terminator 2 with camp, villainous quips, and over-the-top AI action, while also exploring ethical and regulatory concerns surrounding AI autonomy.📅 Release & Production Released in theaters June 27, 2025, following a world premiere in New York on June 24. Directed and written by Gerard Johnstone, with story by Johnstone and Akela Cooper. Produced by Jason Blum, James Wan, and Allison Williams under the Blumhouse and Atomic Monster banners.🔞 Rating & Runtime Rated PG‑13 for strong violent content, bloody images, some strong language, sexual material, and brief drug references. Runs 120 minutes (2 hours).💵 Box Office & Streaming Budget: approximately $15–25 million; global gross: around $36–37 million, notably lower than the first film’s $180M ($12M budget) performance. Due to underperformance, it moved to digital platforms on July 15, and a 4K/Blu-ray/DVD release with an unrated cut is scheduled for September 23.🧾 Critics Critics were mixed, with Rotten Tomatoes scores around 57–58%, while audience reception was stronger—around 82% approval. Some critics found it thin on horror and too exposition-heavy (like Nerdbot: “boring,” minimal screen time for M3GAN). Other reviews praised its outrageous humour, action, and M3GAN’s sass, especially on streaming platforms (Cinemablend: “I kinda loved it”).✅ Who might enjoy M3GAN 2.0? Fans of quirky AI-powered action more than straight horror. Viewers interested in ethical questions of AI wrapped in sci‑fi satire. Those who appreciate a self-aware, campy tone and the sassy personality of M3GAN.🎬 Conclusion: Is M3GAN 2.0 Worth Watching? M3GAN 2.0 shifts the franchise from horror into sci-fi action comedy, delivering a campy, self-aware showdown between rogue AIs with personality. While it didn't match the breakout success of the original, it offers fans a fresh, if uneven, sequel with more action, satire, and sass. ✅ Watch it if you enjoy tech-themed thrillers with humor and over-the-top characters. ⚠️ Skip it if you're expecting a pure horror experience or a tightly written story.Despite mixed critical reviews, M3GAN 2.0 has gained a second life on streaming—embraced by audiences who appreciate its bold, tongue-in-cheek style. Think Terminator 2 meets Mean Girls… with killer robots.

M3GAN 2.0 Limited Edition Steelbook 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital

Original price was: $38.00.Current price is: $37.95.
The murderous doll who captivated pop culture is back. And this time she’s not alone. The original creative team behind that phenomenon--led by horror titans James Wan for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and director Gerard Johnstone--reboot an all-new wild chapter in A.I. mayhem with M3GAN 2.0. Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match. Directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, the film co-stars returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live, Hacks), Timm Sharp (Apples Never Fall, Percy Jackson and the Olympians) and Grammy winner and 11-time Emmy nominee Jemaine Clement (Avatar: The Way of Water, What We Do in the Shadows). Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and Allison Williams, the film is executive produced by Gerard Johnstone, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott and Mark D. Katchur. She's back - smarter, sassier, and somehow even more unhinged than before. M3GAN 2.0 is everything you want in a sequel like this. It's fun, it's chaotic, it's completely self-aware - and it knows exactly what kind of film it is. No pretence, no filler, just pure killer doll camp with a glossy finish and razor-sharp one-liners. The plot? Honestly, barely matters. You're here to watch M3GAN wreak havoc in style - and she absolutely delivers. Think TikTok-era Terminator, but with better outfits and even more attitude. The dance moves are back (of course), but so is the biting satire, the tech paranoia, and the kind of crowd-pleasing gore that has you grinning one moment and gasping the next. One unexpected standout? Ukrainian-American actress Ivanna Sakhno, who plays AMELIA, a military-grade android. She's stunning, has incredible screen presence, and honestly gives off major Elizabeth Olsen vibes. Like... twin-level resemblance. More of her in everything, please. Is it high art? No. But it never pretends to be. It's campy, clever, and completely entertaining from start to finish. If you loved the first, you'll be living for this one. And if you didn't? Well... M3GAN doesn't care. She'll come for you anyway!!
