The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019)

The Secret Life of Pets 2 expands on the lives of Manhattan's favorite domestic animals through three woven storylines. The central plot follows Max the Jack Russell Terrier, voiced by Patton Oswalt, who has become an overprotective guardian to his owner Katie’s new son, Liam. During a family trip to the countryside, Max meets a rugged farm dog named Rooster, voiced by Harrison Ford in his animated debut, who helps Max overcome his anxieties and find his confidence. Simultaneously, Gidget the Pomeranian enlists the help of the cat Chloe to go undercover as a feline to retrieve Max’s favorite toy from a neighbor’s apartment full of cats. Meanwhile, the eccentric bunny Snowball, voiced by Kevin Hart, adopts a superhero persona and joins forces with a new Shih Tzu character named Daisy to rescue a trapped white tiger from a traveling circus run by the villainous Sergei. These plotlines eventually collide in a high-speed rescue mission on a train, concluding with Max and his friends returning home with a more adventurous outlook on life. The film features a star-studded voice cast including returning actors Jenny Slate, Eric Stonestreet, Lake Bell, and Dana Carvey, while adding Tiffany Haddish and Nick Kroll to the ensemble.
