Tinsel Town 2025

Tinsel Town is a 2025 British Christmas comedy film directed by Chris Foggin. The movie's plot centers on Bradley Mack (Kiefer Sutherland), a washed-up, egotistical Hollywood action star whose career has been left faltering due to being typecast and blacklisted. His agent, in a desperate attempt to revive his career, sends him to England for a "prestigious" theatre gig. To his shock and humiliation, Bradley finds himself not in a serious West End production, but in the small Yorkshire village of Stoneford, where he is cast in the role of Buttons for the local community's chaotic Christmas pantomime production of Cinderella. Initially disdainful of the low-brow British tradition of panto, his big-shot attitude immediately clashes with the committed local cast, particularly the straight-talking show choreographer, Jill (Rebel Wilson), who also happens to be a single mother with an estranged ex-husband (Danny Dyer). Through the process of learning the ropes of pantomime—which involves audience participation, comedy, and music—and his budding relationships with Jill, his estranged daughter Emma (Matilda Firth) who is living nearby, and other villagers, Bradley begins a journey of personal and professional redemption. He must learn to shed his massive ego, embrace the community spirit of the show, and rediscover the joy of acting and the true meaning of Christmas, transforming from a cynical Hollywood reject into a heartfelt participant. The film features a star-studded cast including Kiefer Sutherland (Bradley Mack) and Rebel Wilson (Jill), alongside an ensemble of British talent: Alice Eve, Katherine Ryan, Derek Jacobi, Danny Dyer, Mawaan Rizwan, Meera Syal, and Jason Manford.Tinsel Town was released in the United States in select theaters and on VOD on November 28, 2025. In the United Kingdom, it was released as a Sky Original film on Sky Cinema on December 5, 2025.

This was a movie that should have worked in so many ways, but it seemed it was just thrown together by a writing committee. Unhappy daughter needing a father figure? Check. Unmarried mother who falls for the newcomer? Check. Square peg in round hole finally fits? Check. Snow on Christmas Eve? Check. Hero and villain become friends? Check. Come on, it just lurched from one unfunny scene to the next. It was disjointed and frankly, awful.
