Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc 2025

Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc (Gekijô-ban Chensô Man Reze-hen 2025) is a highly anticipated Japanese animated dark fantasy action film that serves as a direct continuation of the first season of the Chainsaw Man anime series, adapting the popular "Bomb Girl Arc" (chapters 40-52) from Tatsuki Fujimoto's original manga. Produced by Studio MAPPA and directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, the film centers on protagonist Denji, a devil hunter for Public Safety who has fused with his devil-dog, Pochita, to become the half-human, half-devil "Chainsaw Man." The plot picks up after the events of the Katana Man Arc, focusing on Denji's life as he yearns for a normal relationship. He meets and quickly falls for Reze, a seemingly kind and innocent girl who works at a café. Reze appears to offer him the emotional connection and escape he desires, leading to a tender, slice-of-life-style romance, but her true nature is revealed when she is exposed as the lethal Bomb Devil hybrid. This revelation plunges Denji into a brutal conflict, forcing him to face his deadliest opponent yet in a battle fueled by betrayal and confused affection. The film, which features returning voice actors like Kikunosuke Toya as Denji and introduces Reina Ueda as Reze, was released in Japan on September 19, 2025, with an international theatrical release by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Releasing rolling out from late September to late October 2025. It is considered a crucial, canon entry in the Chainsaw Man saga, bridging the gap between the first season and future anime adaptations.
