Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups (2026)
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions in association with Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is a high-stakes period gangster thriller scheduled for a global theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the Ugadi festival. The film features "Rocking Star" Yash in the lead role of Raya, a formidable and unapologetic figure in the 1980s Goa underworld, a setting defined by its juxtaposition of scenic coastal beauty and a ruthless, shadow-dwelling drug cartel. The narrative is described as a dark reimagining of the gangster genre, blending intense action with a complex emotional core that explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the "toxic" nature of power. The recently released teaser on January 8, 2026—marking Yash’s 40th birthday—showcased a gritty, neo-noir aesthetic, introducing Raya with the viral tagline "Daddy's Home" amidst an explosive cemetery shootout. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Kiara Advani as Nadia, Nayanthara as Ganga, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, and Rukmini Vasanth as Melissa, alongside Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair. Technically ambitious, the project is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with Hollywood action director J.J. Perry overseeing the choreography and National Award-winner Rajeev Ravi handling the cinematography, while Ravi Basrur provides the musical score.
