Crime 101 (2026)
Directed by Bart Layton (American Animals), Crime 101 is a high-stakes crime thriller scheduled for a wide theatrical release on February 13, 2026. Based on the 2010 novella by Don Winslow, the story centers on Mike Davis (played by Chris Hemsworth), a methodical jewel thief who has evaded capture for years by strictly adhering to his own set of professional rules known as "Crime 101." The plot intensifies when Davis decides to pull off one final, multi-million dollar heist, forcing him into an uneasy partnership with a disillusioned insurance broker, Sharon Colvin (Halle Berry). As they plan the job along the sun-bleached grit of the Los Angeles freeway system, they are relentlessly pursued by Detective Lou Lubesnick (Mark Ruffalo), a veteran investigator determined to break Davis’s perfect streak. The film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte. Originally, the project was at the center of a massive $100 million bidding war between Netflix and Amazon MGM Studios, with Amazon ultimately securing the rights. While Pedro Pascal was initially attached to star alongside Hemsworth, he eventually departed due to scheduling conflicts with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, leading to the current MCU "reunion" between Hemsworth and Ruffalo. Produced by Working Title Films and Hemsworth’s own Wild State banner, the movie is being positioned as a stylish, gritty thriller in the vein of Michael Mann’s Heat.
