Manitou's Canoe 2025

Manitou's Canoe (Das Kanu des Manitu 2025) is a comedy Western and a sequel to the 2001 hit film Der Schuh des Manitu (Manitou's Shoe), directed and written by Michael Bully Herbig, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Rick Kavanian and Christian Tramitz. The film sees the return of the beloved main characters, Abahachi, the chief of the Apache (Michael Herbig), and his white blood brother, Ranger (Christian Tramitz), who are tirelessly fighting for peace and justice in the Wild West. Their efforts are complicated when they are framed for several crimes, evidenced by arrows neatly inscribed with Abahachi's name, which leads to them being captured and nearly hanged. They are rescued at the last minute by their loyal Greek companion, Dimitri (Rick Kavanian), and his new assistant, Mary (Jasmin Schwiers), but the rescue itself reveals a larger plot. A new, up-and-coming gang, hired by a mysterious oil baron referred to as "Der Boss" (Jessica Schwarz), has lured the heroes into a trap to get their hands on the legendary, immortality-granting Manitou's Canoe, which only Abahachi can access. The core cast also features Friedrich Mücke as Sheriff Kane, Daniel Zillmann as Little Rock, and the return of Abahachi's twin brother, Winnetouch (also Herbig), and the previous film's villain, Santa Maria (Sky du Mont). The film, which has a runtime of 88 minutes, celebrated its world premiere on August 14, 2025, and as of late August 2025, has generated a worldwide box office gross of approximately $57.84 million (with the majority, about $57.52 million, coming from Germany).
