The Pout-Pout Fish 2026
The animated film The Pout-Pout Fish, based on the New York Times bestselling children's book series by Deborah Diesen, is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on March 20, 2026, with an earlier release in Australia on January 1, 2026. The movie tells the hilarious and heartwarming story of an unlikely duo: Mr. Fish (voiced by Nick Offerman), a short-tempered, pouty recluse, and Pip (voiced by Nina Oyama), an energetic young sea dragon who initially mistakes Mr. Fish's home for a junkyard. After an argument between the two leaves both their homes in ruin, they must embark on a daunting, full-throttle undersea quest to find the legendary, mythical fish named "Shimmer" (voiced by Jordin Sparks). Their mission is to secure a wish from Shimmer to save their homes from catastrophe. The adventure, which runs approximately 92 minutes and is rated PG, is littered with dangers and dazzling wonders, celebrating the power of friendship, courage, and self-discovery. The film is directed by Ricard Cussó and Rio Harrington, written by Elise Allen, Elie Choufany, and Dominic Morris, and features a star-studded voice cast that also includes Miranda Otto, Remy Hii, and Amy Sedaris.
