Fackham Hall 2025
Set in 1930s England, Fackham Hall (2025) is a slapstick period comedy and murder mystery directed by Jim O’Hanlon and co-written by comedian Jimmy Carr in his feature writing debut. The plot follows Eric Noone (Ben Radcliffe), a charming pickpocket from a London orphanage who is hired as a porter at the sprawling Davenport estate, where he quickly falls into a forbidden romance with the family’s youngest daughter, Rose (Thomasin McKenzie). The Davenport family, led by the eccentric Lord Humphrey (Damian Lewis) and Lady Prudence (Katherine Waterston), is facing a financial crisis after the tragic (and ridiculous) deaths of their four sons, leaving them desperate to marry off their daughter Poppy (Emma Laird) to her caddish cousin Archibald (Tom Felton). Chaos ensues when a murder occurs at the manor and Eric is framed as the prime suspect, leading to an incompetent investigation by Inspector Watt (Tom Goodman-Hill) and a relentless stream of parodic gags—including Jimmy Carr as a vicar who misplaces his punctuation—poking fun at genre tropes from Downton Abbey and Gosford Park. As of late December 2025, the film has earned approximately $2.38 million worldwide at the box office ($1.04 million domestic and $1.34 million international) during its limited theatrical run. It is currently available for streaming and digital purchase worldwide on major VOD platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango, with physical media releases on DVD and Blu-ray scheduled to follow shortly.
