Mahadevan (Dulquer Salmaan), a street performer who rose to become the first true superstar of Tamil cinema under the guidance of legendary director Ayya (Samuthirakani). Their relationship sours when Mahadevan’s ego leads him to hijack Ayya’s dream project, Shaantha, renaming it Kaantha and demanding creative control. In its first week, it collected approximately ₹24.55 crore net in India. By the end of its theatrical run, the film grossed a total of ₹35.44 crore worldwide, with about ₹27 crore coming from the domestic market and ₹8.45 crore from overseas territories. While it maintained a steady run, it faced stiff competition from other major releases like Lokah Chapter 1.Netflix acquired the global digital rights for the film.
